A Taste of Vietnam in Austin
CHAO CAFE was born from a simple dream — to bring the vibrant flavors of Vietnamese street culture to the heart of Austin, Texas. 'Chào' means 'hello' in Vietnamese, and that's exactly what we want every visit to feel like — a warm greeting from a friend.
Founded in 2020, we started as a small pop-up at local farmers' markets, serving our signature Vietnamese iced coffee and homemade chè desserts. The overwhelming love from the Austin community inspired us to open our permanent home on North Lamar Boulevard.
Today, CHAO CAFE is more than just a café. It's a gathering place where cultures meet, stories are shared, and every cup is crafted with the same care our founders learned from their family in Ho Chi Minh City.
